Choosing a Wood Finish
Mixed Wood Chairs
Mixed hardwood is a combination of wood species that create a natural
contrast in the finished piece of furniture. The woods used are
typically cherry/walnut, cherry/maple, or maple/walnut. Other wood
combinations are available, but these are the most popular choices for
our customers.
When ordering a mixed wood chair, we will go over the details with you
over the phone -- discussing every section of the table, top to
bottom. This ensures that we get all of the details right on your new
mixed wood chair. If you have seen a photo on our website or flickr
gallery that you'd like to emulate, please let us know. This makes the
process quite a bit simpler.
Mixed wood options can get very complicated, please call us at
1-888-959-8899 with any questions.
If you're unsure about the finish for your chair, we encourage you to order wood samples. Color accuracy on our website cannot be assured due to a number of variables including lighting, the camera used, and the settings on your computer monitor.
Seat Covering
Our standard chairs are created from solid hardwood, and are contoured for comfort. We also have leather seats available, which replace the standard wooden seat. The standard seat design is square on the corners -- a square and rounded design are both available.
You can see photos of both leather seat designs here.
You can see a swatch of eight available colors here.
Dining Chair Skirt
The Skirt is the area immediately underneath the table seat. There are three options on the trestle chair.
Standard Skirt and Curved Skirt: Click here for a photo of both options.
Fluted Skirt: Fluting is a more complicated wood design that adds detail to the chair, the fluting is added to the area just underneath the seat. Please click here for a photo of fluting on a set of walnut chairs. A fluted skirt is only available on the standard square skirt, not the curved skirt.
Custom Trestle Chairs, Barstools and Benches
We can also create custom sized chairs for your family, common changes include raising or lowering the seat by an inch.
We can create benches, barstools, chairs without arms, and other options that are not on our website currently -- so long as they're in the same style as existing furniture. In other words, we can create items like an eastern style barstool or a zen style bench with leather seat and back. Please contact us for a custom quote.
