Hickory is a hard, dense wood that makes furniture of very high durability. It generally costs 10-15% more than oak.
Natural hickory has a high degree of variation, with dark and light patches intermixed. It has fine grain, and has very significant contrast in color from one piece to another. Its coloration ranges from medium blonde to brown.
